The Department is upgraded to Post Graduation Course from Academic Year 2015. It deals with the study of basic principles of Dravyaguna, qualities, action and therapeutic profiles of the food and medicinal plants. This department also includes study of modern pharmacology, Pharmacognosy, plants and other materials related to medicine. The department has big collection of dry, fresh specimens of various rare species / drugs, models, charts and photographs attached with an herbal garden having more than 380 species and 9500 plants. This department conducts periodical study tour for students, Research activities, activities regarding cultivation, collection and conservation of medicinal plants including rare and endangered medicinal plants. By the end of the course the students are able to identify and use the Medicinal herbs rationally in their Clinical Practice.
